Whisk me away, I'll be yours for the day, or the long weekend ♥

Over the Queens Birthday Long Weekend, I was lucky enough to be able to sneak away with Bradley and a couple of our amazing friends for a little camping and 4x4 trip down the coast. We stayed at some really spectacular places, including Shallows Creek, as well as Pebbly Beach in Murramarang National Park.

Both were equally as beautiful, but were so different at the same time. One was more inland(Shallows Creek) then the other, and one was directly on the beach. We experienced more of the wildlife at Pebbly Beach including an awkward encounter with a possum, some rude kangaroos galavanting through a game of rugby league, a very curious flock of rainbow lorikeets, some cackling kookaburras, and again, a hungry kangaroo, who thought it'd be ok chasing me down for the end piece of a loaf of bread. The truly beautiful thing about Pebbly Beach was that just before the sand, there were massive patches of Jonquil flowers, which by the way, if you have never smelt a jonquil, THEY SMELL AMAZING! As Well as the wonderful aromatic jonquils, there were scattered patches of lilies also! My friend Amy and I couldn't help but call on our inner florists and pick a lovely bouquet of both!

Shallows creek had its own positives also. It was such a magical place. The fact that it was freezing made for some awesome pictures, and too many fogged up lenses! The temperature was a refreshing reminder that winter is on its way, oh and to remember that ugg boots are only useful for keeping your feet warm when not wet. I also befriended a stray dog at Shallows Creek, whom I really wanted to keep. It was sought of like the movie Red Dog, where the dog belongs to know one, until it eventually chooses its owner, which happened to be me. I begged and begged Bradley to let me keep him, but no matter how many puppy faces I made, Bradley stayed as stubborn as ever and refused to let me bring, yet another dog home. The only downfall to Shallows Creek was that the trek to the toilet from our campsite was way too far away especially if your bladder decides it wants to be released in the early hours of the morning!

Anywho, here are some photos of our little weekend away!
