Alana Taylor | 2016 | Wedding & Portrait Photographer

2016 | Year in Review

Well, 2016 was definitely a whirlwind of emotions, adventures and hard work. There were tears, utter joy and tiring days. I went on numerous adventures, not only to places but to find myself and who I was as a person and an artist. I explored new countries, went interstate, and around the corner from home. Friends came and went and new people walked in to my life at the right time for the right reasons, others stayed and those who left I am forever grateful for the things you taught me.

I have been invited in to peoples lives, homes and intimate moments to document and share their stories. I have documented intimate moments, numerous weddings, couples, loads of families and an infinite amount of love. I have become life long friends with so many of my gorgeous couples and clients, and I am forever grateful for the trust you put in me and for being the incredibly awesome humans that you are. I am grateful that I have gotten to be apart of your lives in some way, and have been able to document the moments for you to all look back on in years for now.

I have made so many friends this year not only with my clients but with so many of my colleagues whom work in the industry, both photographers and other amazing vendors. You all know who you are and thank you all for your constant support, kindness, hi-fives, laughs, hugs, shoulders, endless advice and all round awesomeness that you all seem to have. Thanks for kicking butt at what you do, for excepting me and my art with open arms and for always having my back.

To the beautiful friends I have made through the Monthly Social at The Picture Mill, thank you. Thank you for your friendship, for the endless amount of coffees and wines we have consumed, for the catch ups, the shoulders to cry on, the advice, the interventions, the laughs and for everything else any of you have done for me. Thank you for lifting me up, for giving me the confidence and bravery that I needed and for being awesome women who empower each other.

Thank you to my beautiful family. I am grateful every single day that I am surrounded by such supportive beings, and without the encouragement that you all give me daily I wouldn’t be doing what I am doing, that is for sure.

2016 was a massive year for me and I am thankful that this has now become my life. I went full time with photography this year and am so glad that I did. Thanks to the incredible humans who continue to support me and my art and hire me to be apart of their lives. Without you all I would definitely not be where I am today.

I have smashed all of my goals this year, and 2017 is looking to be an interestingly exciting year for me, and I am more then excited to see where this all takes me. I hope I get to document many more moments, some less typical then other. I hope to travel, to document more love, and to meet more incredible humans.

So here is to 2016! The places, the people and the photos!
