The Anti Bride | South Coast Styled Shoot
The Anti Bride
South Coast Styled Shoot
I had been dreaming up this shoot for quite some time. Constantly thinking about the golden light, the hair, the makeup and the outfit. The embodiment of a badass bride who wasn't scared to stray from tradition, and to be herself. I bought the dress from a local boutique a few months back, pulled the hat from my collection, had my beautiful friend Nitty from @followyournose makeup some florals from my expo stand which she styled on the weekend, and put a call out for a model & hmua. Thankfully, @michellecatomakeup and @alishacopleycame to the rescue with less then 24 hours notice and open minds.
If you read my Instagram stories the other night you would know that I originally started off shooting fashion & portraiture. I loved it with every bone in my body, loved creating, the freedom and everything about it. I still love it, but a few years ago(around 4 years or so) I found myself shooting my first wedding, and from there, I fell head over heals in love with shooting weddings and all the beautiful moments that would unfold.
I gave up shooting fashion and focussed on weddings and people in love. I am so thankful for the beautiful humans who have welcomed me with open arms to document their day. It is honestly such an incredible honour, and you all have no idea how much I love my job and find myself waking up every day, pinching myself that I am able to do what I do.
I have come to realise, that every now and again it is so important for me to take time to create, with no time boundaries, no limitations and to keep an open mind to the possibilities that might arise.
This shoot means so much to me and I am so happy to share it with you.
